Damen Green Line Station | Ardmore Roderick
Have you had the chance to see the newly opened Damen Green Line station? I recently photographed the new structure for Ardmore Roderick, who oversaw construction inspection and documentation for the project.
The station is an exciting new addition to the city’s infrastructure. It features two brand-new platforms connected by a striking green truss transfer bridge that immediately catches the eye. The facility features modern amenities, including two elevators, a spacious and sleek glass station house with a slatted wood ceiling, and LED lighting. Additionally, the Damen Green Line station has an updated communication systems share information with passengers.
This was a fairly on-the-fly photoshoot. I had planned all the details with Ardmore Roderick, and they let me do my thing. Instead of coordinating a specific day to shoot with a team on-site, waited for a day with favorable weather. While open-ended, this approach allowed me to capture some the station’s most striking architectural elements when the sun’s angle was most favorable — particularly on the green truss bridge and front of the station house.
