Over Gotham
Last night was a wonderful night to shoot from one of my favorite spots – high above the city firmly planted on a rooftop. Through a client contact I was able to gain access to the roof of a 22-story building in the Near North Side neighborhood. With stunning views of tall skyscrapers along the river and in the Loop, as well as the shorter residential and commercial sections along Grand avenue, it’s a wide-angle paradise and great addition to my #ChicagoLandmarks project.
Now, I’m usually a lone wolf when it comes to city shooting, but this time I invited fellow photographer Eric Hines to join me. He’s currently working on a follow-up timelapse to his wildy successful piece; Cityscape Chicago (seriously, go watch it). If you’ve already seen it, or have enjoyed Eric’s other work, you know his timelpase skills are second-to-none and I knew this view would be a great addition to his next piece – one I’m really looking forward to seeing.
